  1. This is a "to be fair" post. To be fair...... He wasn't referring to you broooooooooo. toooo beeee fairrrrrrr.... I think most people are unhappy when the off-classer is on THEIR team and the offclasser is not contributing. Sometimes he/she thinks that by getting 1 or 2 picks during a mid fight is worthwhile as a sniper, but the team might think a roamer or 2nd scout would be more useful. While you are feeling good about yourself headshotting enemies, your team is dealing with pressure from a freely moving enemy team who need not deal with your roamer or 2nd scout. Your own team wipes, you get 3k and die a valiant death to almost ANY class that gets near you. The irony being, that most off-classers (especially the snipers) are the veterans and they FULLY understand how they are putting their team at a disadvantage. toooo beeeee fairrrrr.... It is actually quite rare for newbies to be running pyro/heavy/spy/sniper to mid 24/7. Please don't quote 11am pugs. toooo beeeee fairrrr.... it is actually the veterans who think they are beast offclassers who are doing it 24/7. Just putting it out there TOOOO BEEEEE FAIRRRRR.... to. be. fair. this is forum. Forum for discuss. Also for complain. If no complain no discuss, then no forum. Also, qjyap report bug. Report good. Reporting help to make mod better. Press faster to roll to spec no make mod better. Similar to something like this. This no solution. It no make things better. No report, no better. Only avoid. Bad. Avoid bad. Nobody is taking the mod for granted. Maybe there are, but none of the sort was expressed here in this forum thread. Where did you ever get that idea?! I love the mod! (except when it bugs out then I hate it) 2 B 4a|r....... This is the most defined set of rules ASIAFORTRESS HAS SEEN on the issue of OFFCLASSING.... EVER. WOW. This guy here actually has guidelines even for timing. Not everyone may agree with that set of guidelines but hey, at least its something right? RIGHT???????? Meanwhile.... the big boss doesn't pug so much anymore so go ahead off-classers! just to be fair guys. just to be fair.
  2. First of all, it is really hard to please everybody. It really is hard. I mean, it is difficult to accomplish. Your job as an admin is NOT to please everybody. Leave that to the whores (male or female whores, don't be calling me sexist here). Your primary concern as an admin, is to administrate. Wiki tells me that it is to manage and direct the affairs of an organization. So do that. At the end of the day, the onus is on YOU(the administrators) to maintain YOUR personal discipline in being fair about judgement calls. We know admin abuse when we see it. I recall fondly being kicked from a pug server when an admin was having a bad day and I was pushing all the wrong buttons on his hairy chest. We made up later with more mashing of chest buttons and it was all good. The relationship between admin/community is a balance of give and take. However, that relationship is NOT as important as getting the JOB done. Be responsible. Get it done. You can also read this book written by Terry L. Cooper. Direct any other queries to him at terrylcooper@howtoberesponsibleadmin.com
  3. First of all, that is not a solution. If anything, it is a mindset to adopt in order to be less bothered by a situation that otherwise irks you. A solution would be something that pertains directly to said situation and affects a change and solves the issue at hand. Although this was not the intention of the OP (Bob), once again the topic of off-classing in pugs has been reignited. In before long debates on this thread which has nothing to do with offclassing, perhaps the moderators would like to close this thread, move the discussion elsewhere, or just ask the all important rhetorical question that makes no grammatical sense -------> ANYWAY...... I respond because my very first post in asiafortress forums was incidentally on this matter. You can read more walls of texts on the issue here: http://asiafortress....__fromsearch__1 Also, I found the culprit who brought Bob's depressing story of not being picked after waiting for 10 long minutes that felt like eternity into a segway of Mokee <3 Offclassing. Why Benny Why! Let's take a stroll down the all important pathway of logic before diving headfirst into philosophical arguments because we all know.... Wanting to maintain quality leads to rules. Rules lead to enforcement. Enforcement lead to admins. Admins no enough. Admins might even ask the community "why is that even our problem honestly?" as if admins actually give a fuck right?!. I digress. Admins lead to double standards. Double standards lead to paranoia. Paranoia is a big word so I explain. You never know whether your offclassing situation is justifiable or not. Hence, paranoia leads to fear. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to HATE. Hate leads to SUFFERING. Something like how Bob feels when he was denied his spot in a pug which he waited 10 minutes for. While I have a knack for digressing because I posted this not to argue seriously as much as have fun making irrelevant references, I believe the point I am trying to make is[are]..... - This off-classing thing is not new. - There are many grey areas and these grey areas are what makes this issue actually discussable. - Enforcing these rules require RESPONSIBLE admins present. Are we in supply of them? It is also very interesting that while long time asiafortress admin the great camel Spammah actually bothered to express his opinions as I am actually rather concerned about who "our" refers to. Since there was no blatant disclaimer like Spammah, I'm unsure whether Shounic speaks on behalf of all asiafortress admins, some asiafortress admins, his asiafortress group of friends, or... um... Every organization has a government. A set of rules, if you will. Rules lead to enforcement. Enforcement leads to admins. Blah blah blah Dark Side. HOWEVER... [forgive the syntax] if the policemen in my neighbourhood tell me that " (A thief) will (steal) no matter what and there are no (policemen) around what can you do about it? You want us to enforce rules that can annoy people who live "normally" just to make it harder for someone to (steal)?", I will actually feel rather unsafe. Moral of the story : Get responsible admins who are on the same page. Trust in them to police the AF servers. Pray they do not abuse powers (oh don't get me started *wink). Step 3 is likely to fail. If all else fails, simply succumb to how uncannily Natapon looks like Yao Ming And allow CHAOS IN ASIAFORTRESS SERVERS MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA. - just another trololo post which has almost nothing to do with the OP's thread.

I'm sorry but we don't NEED to do anything at all. You WANT us to stop commenting here now. Whether we stop or not is entirely up to us. Or a forum moderator could close this thread. Or you could "Hazilla" this thread altogether.

    LFT Scout/Soldier Div3/2

wow and you'd think counter jumping and shotgun denies are cheap. Hazilla just brought this to a whole new level by just removing before losing. why bother playing cheap when you can easily.... remove yourself before losing? We can simply use this new term when someone does this removing bullshit again. "god damn i just got hazilla-ed O.o. he removed when i was about to win"

    pug life

agree with harm. both things can be done concurrently i suppose. vets can comm in pugs, small group mentor/mentees... not mutually exclusive and having these two ideas ongoing at the same time can only help the community. sounds good!

  13. After seeing this guy adamantly denying his hax on the forums, picking a fight with our darling joe about being transfer denied and being all macho... read more about it here: http://asiafortress....2-24-july-2013/ I just HAD to catch this mofo redhanded. So I did. [EDIT: I have fail forum searching skills] so I can't screenshot his exchange with joe and place it in the video... Ah such regret... Nevertheless, I hope everyone can take a few minutes and enjoy taking this noobie apart in a very poorly edited video which simply speaks for itself. ENJOY! p.s. do watch it in full screen HD goodness http://youtu.be/mtQK90qF3MA
  14. o no i cld've made the video more exciting god damn it. nvm i guess this will do for now XD
  15. In all fairness, AFC7 and its administration did give ample time for teams to register and find suitable players to make up a roster which includes substitutes to cater for the exact situation you are bringing up now. Shouldn't all players who register to play in AFC7 be fully aware of the rules and regulations and ensure they are available to participate during the season? I'm unsure of the rationale of the implementation of the rule However I'm sure the administration has a good reason for doing so. Most teams are divided into their divisions based on the team members at first registration. Admins need to know these players and their skill level before making informed decisions in division sorting. Thus, there are players whom are approved or not approved during these transfer windows because there is a system of sorting(AF Rating Thread?) in place. While AFC7 is clearly aimed at expanding the Asian tf2 community, I'm sure the above quoted rule has no contradiction with promoting a more vibrant and involved community. The rule basically restricts inflow of new players during transfer windows, AFTER registration has closed. All those who were interested in joining the Asian TF2 community WOULD have and SHOULD have joined DURING the registration period. If new players can simply join teams during transfer windows, then what is the point of having a registration period in the first place? Anyone can join any team at any given transfer window. This may very well be the floodgate that the rule is keeping closed. Thus, instead of insinuating certain "contradictions" that reside within rules and regulations that have been existing during the past 7 seasons or so, I suggest asking for leniency based on extraordinary circumstances such as "computer exploded can no longer play", or "player leaving country for studies". That being said, if you already know you are leaving on a jet plane, why sign up for a commitment you cannot fulfil in the first place? Shouldn't substitutes be included in the registered roster to cater for such contingencies? All in all, I hope you guys sort out these issues and remain in the competition. Our admins are not heartless! Appeal to their sympathetic side and avoid attacking the integrity of rules and regulations. Lastly, saying please helps. After all, it is extra work for them to find out who this new guy is, whether he has a hacking history, whether he is a smurf, whether he is div1 but applying for div2, discuss, decide, all after the registration has supposedly closed and their job regarding player and team sorting has already been done. admins plz.

    For The Sake Of Sanity

give them back their powers.... admins can't be a bunch of castrated eunuchs.... or devaginaed eunuchesses... we aren't customers here... these servers are free for us... so from the perspective of one enjoying free servers to play on... just be thankful you get to play... doesn't mean admin abuse is right though... as you can see.... admin abuse doesn't get looked past easily... The fella got caught but the punishment too ji ba booms... one shot all the admins got castrated and devaginaed... every community has its corruption... we as players must learn to live w it... cos there is no way to ensure perfect admins... just better quality control... but u never know... one day... nata emo... shut down asiafortress for good... so be thankful and play your game now.... im too old for this...................
  19. This gary sense of humour too strongk. ANW. I've heard benny reiterate that tf2 is a fps game after all, so dm is naturally very important. not to get into this whole gamesense vs dm debate which is entirely meaningless because the aim is to have both so you become beast. BUT, regarding OP, MGE/pugs/pubs simply provide an environment for us players. Ultimately, the onus is on you to make use of the environment to better a certain aspect of your game. Whether you accumulate 300 points on a Starhub Orange server, play 10 pugs from afternoon to night, or spend 2 hrs in an mge server playing scout until you have 400 points, what matters is you achieve your goals and eventually manage to apply it to an actual scrim when it all matters. I know of people who would do tr_aim_training for hours everyday to train muscle memory as well, so try everything and find something that works for you. At the end of the day, pugging is the closest practice you can get to the actual structure and pressure of a 6v6 scrim, so I would suggest practising facets of your DM, be it ground rockets or airshots, and then attempt to apply them to an actual game. Its not only the nerves that will get to you, but also the element of surprise because in MGE you know its a 1 v 1 situation while in an actual 6v6 game you might not always be prepared to deal with a jumper. Given more experience and pressing tab, you will learn to be able to expect and "predict" enemy tendencies more, which will make certain situations less surprising then. Nowadays MGE has this great big negative connotation to it, as if it is almost a bad thing to be practising in MGE. Don't worry about butthurt haters who attempt to label you and just concentrate and focus on your game. If you are making them mad, then it only goes to show that you are effective enough to get to them. I don't think it is that hard to draw a correlation between Tharnos's beastly rockets and the hours he spent playing soldier in MGE. It is also not hard to draw a correlation between Tharnos's shiny new unusuals and the amount of $$$ he spent to purchase them and how it is simply chump change to him. I digress. If you let the environment, eg. MGE, pubs, pugs, restrict your gameplay, then its your own fault for letting yourself get affected. Whichever environment you choose to immerse yourself into, just make sure it is constructive practice and it's all good! - just my 2 nobocents worth
