Good evening guys,

The deadline for registration ends tmw. Note that I do only accept one more slot, as the final structure will be a 4 round 12 team Group Stages Round Robin System followed by seeding into 12 team Modified Double Elimination.

Edit: The reason why we did so is because 1. It will be a better fit into our current time frame and 2. Player fatigue is considered as well.

Comfrimation E-mail will be sent at 1200 hrs tmw. Captains that have registered, please check your inbox by then.

More information on the Swiss round will be shown in the e-mail.

Note that the event will take place at both nights (7pm onwards) on the 18 and 19.

Good evening guys,

Comfrimation E-mail have been sent out to the captains of the team.

And the registration has officially been closed. I will still accept registrations, but acceptance will depend on how many slots we have left after all the confirmed teams have took their place in the competition, and it will be on a first come first served basis on the registration thread.

The match timings is more or less the same as reflected upon the revised comfrimation e-mail that I have sent to all of the team captains involved. The general timings will be from 7pm (which is the check in timings) to 11.30pm at night singapore time, 18 and 19 may).

Assuming there is no unforeseen issues that may decide to "Foch" us with the schedule,

18 May 2013

Timing: 7pm: Start of check in time for the Teams that participate.

7.30pm: Group Round Robin will start. Elaboration is given in Annex 1

(Players will get a rest after all Round Robin Rounds are completed, rest time depending on the time of completion of the group stages.)

9.30pm: Match 1-6 (Bo5)

10.30pm: Match 8-9 (Bo5)

19 May 2013

Timing: 7pm: Check in time for Teams that are left in the competition.

7.30pm: Match 10,11 (Bo5)

8.30pm: Match 7,12 (Bo5)

9.30pm: Match 13 (Bo7)

10.30pm: Match 14 (Bo7)

There may be a slight variation due to unforeseen issues in the competition, but timing should be more of less followed. If there is a variation in timings, we will announce and will explain it to you. Check in time will however, remains the same. If there is an event of a severe spillover of time, the matches 13 and 14 will be postponed to the next possible date, at the discretion of the teams involved and the admins. We do hope however, that this is not the case.

This is our modified double elimination tournament structure after our groups round robins, in case you are wondering which matches are we referring to. Top 4 seeds will need to lose 2 times to be eliminated while the next 8 will only need to lose a single match before being eliminated from the tournament.

And yes, we have considered other tournament structures before deciding that this is the most suitable for our constraints.

I WOULD STRONGLY STRONGLY STRONGLY STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT PLAY B05 AND B07. B03 ALL THE WAY IS THE BEST. B07 WILL MAKE PEOPLE SUICIDAL.

B07 WILL MAKE PEOPLE SUICIDAL.

B07 WILL MAKE PEOPLE SUICIDAL.

B07 WILL MAKE PEOPLE SUICIDAL.

B07 WILL MAKE PEOPLE SUICIDAL.

B07 WILL MAKE PEOPLE SUICIDAL.

Hmm. I did not have any real reason to implement a bo7. I only implement it cause I thought you guys would like to have a longer and subsequently a more fair match. And a bo3 is more efficient to us as admins, cause less time is used. More room for uncertainties as well.

Finals however, should be a bo5, imo, so that a winner could be picked in a fairer way.

In uni class now. Will get back tonight.

Good evening everyone

Okay I am back. The number of best of matches per match, as long as it is not the bo1, is not really that critical for our operations. Also if we conduct more per match, we will run into severe time constraints like I have implied in my last post. Hence we considered the max limit of best of 7, and our schedule is derived as a result.

Since the raison de tere for having the best of 7 is eliminated (it seems that it is not within player interest to play 7 rounds, and the admins have a much better time too :D)

When downsizing the competition to the best of 3s and 5s, this is how the schedule will look like.

18 May 2013

Timing: 7pm: Start of check in time for the Teams that participate.

7.30pm: Group Round Robin will start. Elaboration is given in Annex 1

(Players will get a rest after all Round Robin Rounds are completed, rest time depending on the time of completion of the group stages.)

9.30pm: Match 1-6 (Bo3)

10.10pm: Match 8-9 (Bo3)

19 May 2013

Timing: 7pm: Check in time for Teams that are left in the competition.

7.30pm: Match 10,11 (Bo3)

8.20pm: Match 7,12 (Bo3)

9.10pm: Match 13 (Bo3 or Bo5)

10.00pm: Match 14 (Bo5)

I would like to argue for a Bo5 for finals, since it will be a better determinator of a clear victor as compared to Bo3

Looks a bit better that way, and there will be breaks :D

There will be positive surprises as well, it will be revealed during the day of the competition itself.

And btw in response to a particular post:

One more day to the ultiduo rumble.

Teams that has not sent their comfrimation letter, please do so.

And in the meantime, we will use the most updated schedule, (The BO5 one, not the BO7 one) given in the last post, if there is no serious objections.

List of bugs could be found on this page:

http://onlygamingmatters.info/topic/8808210/1/?x=0#post8062795

I will need to say that this list is not exhaustive, neither will the posts be final.

Also, 5 servers are up for use.

116.251.223.173:30001

116.251.223.173:30002

116.251.223.173:30003

116.251.223.173:30004

116.251.223.173:30005

Password is oagmatch.

Currently the servers are in the midst of updating, so give it until tmw morning becomes it becomes fully functional again.

Edit: It is updated. Have fun guys.

Please note that the KOTH ultiduo config needs to be loaded first, and this is normally done by an admin. PM me if you need to load up the config. I will try to reply to you ASAP.

Didn't know I had to send the confirmation letter back. But I did reply to the email as I had a query. Is that a confirmation or do I have to send you again?

I took that as a comfrimation. :D

Wow bo5 final is seriously way too long. I suggest you re-think the grand finals to bo3.

Noted. I will reconsider again.

PS: And i thought BO7 is the right amount of time. Guess I need to reprogram my perceptive again D:

And I think I have forgotten to include the format of group round robin.

Elaboration: Group Round Robin will begin with everyone being divided into 3 groups of 4. Everyone will start with 0 points.

For example:

Group 1

Position Team name Points

1 A 0

2 B 0

3 C 0

4 D 0

Group 2

Position Team name Points

1 E 0

2 F 0

3 G 0

4 H 0

Group 3

Position Team name Points

1 I 0

2 J 0

3 K 0

4 L 0

Each team will fight one round against the other team in their respective groups. In the round, there are a total of 3 battles. Each battle is worth 1 point, and will be given to the team who first successfully captures the point for a cumulative time of 5 mins. A draw will be given and each team in that battle will be given 0.5 points, if and only if the point is neutral for 3 mins from the time of start of battle.

The teams will then be seeded into their respective positions. In general, the teams with the highest amount of points will be seeded higher.

If there is a tie break, and no reliable measure of performance could be determined, a coin flip is done and the higher seeded team will be chosen at random between the tie break teams.

And also yes, we have considered other avenues like the Swiss system and a 1 group round robin before we decided with this format. This is a balance between fair seeding and time constraints.

Sry Sry I was out.

Under the search for groups, type in OGM TF2 U2 and join in that group. It is listed as public. After which join in the group chat and state that you have checked in at 7pm.
