PSA: Whitelist has been implemented and Server #11 is now running mge_dueling, which has two Ultiduo and two bball (1v1 and 2v2) arenas. Have fun and keep the feedback coming guys.

    Ultiduo Servers

I think ETF2L's Ultiduo whitelist is good. iirc: Original, Escape Plan, Disciplinary Action, Market Gardener Crossbow, Ubersaw Would also like to see "practical" maps like ultiduo_badlands and ultiduo_process.

Would be good to have some information like classes needed, skill level expected, etc to improve your chances of getting players. Best of luck!

Possible ways for asiafortress to improve

How can you demand respect when you do not show basic respect for the community and the players in the server by reading and following the rules? There are numerous reminders to read the rules, in the Steam group and in the servers themselves. An administrator bans a player for not having read and broken the rules. What exactly is wrong here?

    Hey guys

No real need to make a whole 'nother thread since it's essentially on the same topic as the previous one, but I guess talking about bubble wrap instead is fine?

THANK YOU FOR MAKING AFLAN.SG POSSIBLE!

I'd also like to give a shoutout to LAN Duo and Sotong, who took the initiative and effort of forming their teams to help us meet the necessary 8. Thanks for helping make AFLAN.SG possible too!

    AFLAN.SG Feedback

Thanks for all the feedback regarding the servers etc., I genuinely appreciate it and will keep them in mind. Personally, I think we need a much, much longer set up time in the future. And by set up time I mean when the whole place is cleared out for our use and testing. This would have ensured we could adequately test the servers for hitreg issues, load testing, and other things like streams (yes it's a shame shaddup spammah )and customization methods, amongst various other things. For those wondering, I went down on Wednesday the week of the LAN to set up and test, and only managed to test the servers, STV and Mumble because literally every other computer was taken. Hence, the other computers were more or less out of the question for me to test. Team-wise, I feel like we had too many teams on the field. This didn't just create problems with the configs and etc., it also contributed to the lengthy delays which ultimately led to the finals ending around 2:30 am. Perhaps it would have worked better with 4 or 6 teams, despite the community expressing their (high-aiming) desire to see 8 teams, which was a struggle to meet as well. Ideally we could minimize the technical problems to a great degree if each competitor was assigned to their own PC for the day, if the budget allows it of course. Thanks for the invaluable experience guys, I am grateful to be a part of this event with all my heart.

    LAN Appreciation

Hi all, thanks for all the feedback both positive and negative, I really appreciate it and would keep it all in mind. I'd like to share a few of my thoughts, if you all could bear with my wall of text I'd first like to apologize for the MAJOR screwup in the initial setting up of configs etc. plus the later hitreg/hardware problems. These things could have been better planned and tested by me before the event, and I'd like to apologize to the players who experienced issues that impacted their gameplay, especially Sharkbait who were playing without Mumble for their first match. I'd definitely use the large amounts of experience and lessons I learned to make the next event(s) better. My most heartfelt thanks first go out to Misfit, erio, Summer, Madman, teal, rufus, and the other people who helped organize and make this LAN possible. It was a long, but overall enjoyable 19 hours of TF2, and I am grateful that I could be part of the event. Next, I'd like to thank whoever helped out with the technical issues, especially Saki and Madman again, who were invaluable in helping me solve the problems which I couldn't, like the Mumble sound issues. The staff of The Colosseum were also incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the event, and I'd also like to thank them. Finally, I'd like to thank each and every player for being so patient and understanding in the face of the frustrating technical problems they were facing. I understand it must have been very annoying and/or frustrating when problems arose, especially when they reared their head during an ongoing match. I again apologize for the problems that happened, and I will ensure that these problems are kept to the minimum the next time. Now onto the event itself, it was very, very fun to watch as a spectator. The intense matches between H2 and ffs, just to name one, were incredible to watch, and unexpected plays like PinkiePie's forward Sentry to defend spire drew LOUD cheers (and gasps and laughter) from the crowd. The atmosphere was almost surreal, and despite being burned out at several points in time, I still found myself cheering on the players as they made incredible plays right on the projector. Congratulations to 6k, the winners of AFLAN.SG, who endured the intense matches against coy right down to 2:45 am! I'd like to also shoutout to 2 very different types of players, namely rufus and Ry4n. While rufus could be heard shouting excited calls of "NICE! NICE!" "MEDIC DOWN! PUSH PUSH PUSH!" throughout the entire matches, Ry4n would be sitting - calm, expressionless, unmoving - and giving concise calls to his team. It was fun to watch you guys play, to say the least And finally to the Malaysians who took the trip down here for the LAN, hedwig and Saki. Hope you all found Singapore fun, and we all hope to see you again soon enough! All in all, many lessons were learned, much fun was had, and much gratefulness to many people I have no idea how I could repay. Thanks to everyone for making AFLAN.SG possible and the incredible event it was, and I hope I could see you all in another bigger, better event soon enough.

    Instructions for participants in AFLAN.SG

Hi Morgan, I understand your concern as to the confusion that having a fixed HUD will cause. However, we came to the decision to use Bob's BlackHUD because, as Summer said, it is made by someone from our very own community and it has been getting a very positive reception on TeamFortress.TV, to say the least. We personally believe it has a relatively straightforward and minimal aesthetic, and the difficulty to adapt to it shouldn't be too difficult or painful for most people. I once again apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for airing your concerns. See you at LAN!

    Instructions for participants in AFLAN.SG

Hi Morgan. Since there will be a considerably higher amount of player changing on the MGE computers, as well as the fact that the players who are participating in the MGE side-event may not be participating in the 6v6 matches and thus have not submitted their cfg and HUD, we have decided to set BlackHUD as the HUD that all participants will be using to save time and place all participants on roughly even grounds customization-wise. I apologize if there is any inconvenience caused, and hope you will understand the reasons behind the decision made. Thanks.
