kigbariom 6 Report post Posted April 3, 2011 Before we roll into a new season of Team Fortress, lets take a moment to get to know the clans that we will all be playing against in the first event of the year. -PGTF2 http://steamcommunity.com/groups/PGTF2 OR http://pgtf2.forumclan.com PGTF2 was the division 2 Cinderella story. As the clear underdog in the tournament they were able to over come and win in the first round. Unfortunately division 2 never took off so it was a dead end. The Mercenaries cup should be a good time for PGTF2 to test the water and see what they will be going up against. Having said that, all of their players will need to put in a lot of practice before the events. A team with strong bonds and communication has a head start on some of the new clans, their main concern should be to improve their basics. -Wicked Sick http://steamcommunity.com/groups/WICKEDSICKKKKKK Wicked Sick is an enigma for the mercenaries cup. Because of their seemingly inactive scrim schedule, they should be a surprise for this event. The lineup is full of veterans so it is clear they know what they are getting into. Just know that someone is going to get backstabbed. -The Fluffy 6 http://steamcommunity.com/groups/fuckmelaterally The AFL 3 and 4 champions are back again this time in hopes of continuing their winning streak on the back of 2 fantastic seasons for them. Although without a fixed roster and plagued with ping issues, the Australian mix will do well whether they field the likes of seeker rep or bowt on low ping or sheep on high ping. Look for seeker to give a consistent demoman performance. Any of their scout pairings will be a handful to deal with and teams will have to watch out for that. -Masterful http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Masterful A new team which mean business, Masterful has been scrimming actively and working on perfecting their core roster and plays. A lethal scout pair of the ex-Euro player Coldblood and Nasty, expect this team to go far, and to pull off some huge wins. Let’s just hope Coldblood does not get power cuts. Expect to be entertained by the good DM ability of their players, especially on more DM oriented maps like Viaduct. -Thanatos TF2 http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ThanatosTF2 Headed by GAR, what originally was a Korean based team of hand picked top korean players that were not in dizziness has transformed into a mostly Japanese roster with a little bit of Taiwanese flavour in there. This team just reeks of firepower. They have a selection of fine demomen in okusama and tazanite and rex packs a punch in the scouting department. Expect hov and Bereujandeu to put up solid soldiering performances giving their team a strong combo/roam pairing to work off with. PS, when i ring for this team, the comms are mostly “sibal, sibal” -Phi Gaming http://steamcommunity.com/groups/phigaming Brand new team with a strong selection of players. If they can tighten up their roster before the matches start and makes some bonds they have the potential to do well. As a new clan they may suffer against some of the closer knit teams. The next days will be pivotal for their success. Phi will need to bulk up their defense and keep their medic protected to succeed because their offense can be quite strong once they get their momentum going. -Brandon is a ball http://steamcommunity.com/groups/bisaball Don’t be fooled by the stupid name, BIAB is a force to be reckoned with. Led by Bran and Wish, this team has the ability to perform if they field a consistent lineup. Spectate Bran when he runs sniper to see some spectacular headshots. -Execute Crew http://steamcommunity.com/groups/xq-crew The bakemonos are back. How strong they will be will depend on who will be playing. Ozr and row will most likely feature as scouts and that is enough for most teams to handle. Throw in Firidd and Cheerio on demoman and soldier respectively and you have solid potential for a top 2 finish this event. Communications and scout pairings are going to see this team far. Watching their games will be oisii -Team write-ups composed by Natapon, Benny, and Kigbariom.

Madman 185 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 Expect to be entertained by the good DM ability of their players, especially on more DM oriented maps like Viaduct. Viaduct not in map pool. D-D-D-D-DENIED. Also, I like my teams write up but there should be a slight edit. Because of their ONLY, seemingly inactive DEMOMAN, they should be a surprise for this event. Summer 180 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 WTF WHY NO VIADUCT?
Madman 185 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 cuz its boring vanilla bad and gran for the two maps, makes administration easier and more wham bam. im more focused on the technical and publicity bits of this whole thing, and im stretched much too thinly to see to individual threads for leaders to pick maps and all. Despite my acerbic tone earlier I actually do feel sorry for your team as I understand you guys specialize in viaduct of sorts. however just as individual players have to adapt to the ban on unlocks teams should be able to adapt too. The main season, when it gets going with enough volunteers to run the admittedly massive project will NOT be pure vanilla and will DEFINITELY include more maps including hopefully custom maps. This is just a small event so yeahhhhh....
