One more issue that's pretty significant with everyone crashing these days; if someone crashes or abruptly disconnects(not manually), the plugin doesn't ask specs to sub, and no one can join. The team which lost a player is then stuck with 5 people for the rest of the map.

Yeah, I have to say from experience that a newbie who's seen regulars constantly offclass is going to be far more painful to discipline than a newbie who's just started playing and happens to offclass. In fact, I can think of at least a handful of new players who I told, at some point in their first few pugs to stay away from offclassing as much as possible; pretty much all of them listened. But now, quite a few of them will try and offclass every opportunity they get(whether it's helping or not) just because regular "experienced" players do it. You even have new people constantly asking why the experienced players get to do it, and all you can do is tell them is to look at people like summer, hcaz, russkan, nata, yoog and ripple. Sure, some of them offclass, but none of them offclass at times when they need to be playing scout/soldier.

Agreed. I think being nice to new people, not offclassing pointlessly, respecting admins and fellow players should all be summarised under one big "Don't be an asshat" rule. Or an assclown; whichever is funnier. :> *cough* tyrane *cough*

Even if you do somehow set up Asian lobby servers, it won't do as much as you think it will. Competitive lobbies for TF2 have pretty much only spawned yet another "sect" of TF2 players that basically only ever play lobbies and whore points.

Organising pugs would be ridiculously painful. GU servers are great, but pugging on them isn't ideal.

If you're talking about AFA pugs, those haven't started yet. If you mean normal pugs, you won't often find people joining different channels, etc to pug. Usually what will happen is if the med captain in is mumble, he/she will probably pick players from the mumble channel he/she is in.

No, AFA isn't really for that. Or at least it wasn't, last incarnation. AFA is for the basics of 6v6, to get pubbers experienced enough to play pugs regularly.

Like tubby said, try out pugs first; see if 6v6 is for you. Find like-minded people(via pugs) and it'll be a lot easier forming a team.

There was a bug with the replacement medic captain feature during roll on server #3 at approx. 01:30(UTC +8). The map was badlands. What happened was I had played medic the previous map, and decided not to roll so I could opt out. The other guy hadn't played med and was stuck playing med. Just before I opted out, the player who rolled 3rd last(who would be the replacement med captain) quit. When I opted out, it didn't bring in the 4th last and just got stuck.

Ok, so that would most likely be a bug then. One last question; I assume you know what roll is. Were you in spec while the rolling happened?

That's very odd, because I remember having tested this scenario with nata and sadkatz when testing. Do you remember the time and which server?
