How to play the scout
Hi i am toro. I am generally regarded as the +fwd scout but seeing as there are much much more scouts who generally +fwd more than I do ( which is unacceptable ) i now write this guide to help them get a grip on the scout.
some tips I can give out as a retarded +fwd scout
as a scout i never fight fair. see that medic who just got hit by 2 pipes? kill. that soldier who ran out of ammo? kill. that scout who arent as good as you are? kill. health pack on your side? kill. fight with advantage. if you want to be some sort of mge god by dueling scouts over and over go ahead, it won't help you much.
Movement. generally strafe unpredictably, pretend you're playing quake and doing an lg duel. fighting soldiers I tend to jump and dodge the rockets which can be learned with practice and lots of death. against demos I just jump like a retard and figure out the rest.
as a scout, deathmatch governs you more than anything else ( unlike those sollies, all they have to do is shoot feet get kill. at least demos are better ). if you have all the gamesense in the world but you can't kill any shit that appears on your screen you are WORTHLESS. if you don't have any gamesense at all but you have some dm skills you are worth better than the former ( that's what i lull myself to sleep everyday )
and remember set your sens, xhair and all that shit so you feel comfy when playing. dont ever ever listen to some random indian fag ( read: airshot ) trying to make you change your sens and shit.
try to get in spots that forces the enemy to move predictably to attack you. Say the z stairs on gran 2nd, or spire. Again, try to give yourself a positional advantage compared to the guy. The best positions give you the most options in the current situation and the worst gives you none.
your job, generally is to hold the flanks and attack enemy flanks. as such, you should almost always cover the flanks to prevent your combo from getting fucked up, don't make it a priority to become yz50 ( trust me i know )
if you're finding yourself losing battles alot ( like scout duels. ), chew corners.
against soldiers, don't fight em when they're on higher ground please. it's just suicidal, unless you're yz50 ( again i should know ), you're gonna get fucked up. also do not +fwd into the pocket ( or enemy combo, in general ) without support unless you're that-guy
against demos, well just go close and personal, preferably always over 102 health.
finally, as a scout, your life is worth jack shit. a loss of a scout is better than a loss of say, a soldier or demo. therefore this gives you an excuse to go flank and try to take down medics and demos and [try to] become yz50 but just don't make it a priority to do so.
