  1. Its like I'm just having fun on pugs, sometimes as demo, solly, scout etc with the offclasses and then when I want to play the next pug I have to medic as either the team picked me forced me to medic or the person from the previous game opted out and made me the medic caption instead. Fine, I'll medic this round as I can't do anything else. But when the round is over and the next pugs rolling start, since i have no key binded to join spectate, I am relatively slow and so I am still the medic. BUT I can opt out because of that whatever you call it system. However, when I subbed for someone(think its nova) as medic before the game even started(when they are still warming up and haven't said ready yet) and after that round (30 mins) the next one, that was gully, seeing as my rolling is so damn slow i was still the med and YET i cant opt out. Wtf? is this a glitch or smth? because then i raged quitted and then got perma ban. I mean like srsly you can give people a chance right? SometimesI really wonder whether admins just ban people they find a newbie/noob/irritating...... And pls fix that glitch i beg you asiafortress

  5. You all talk about wanting change but what change do you actually want? Also instead of complaining every time think about what you yourself have contributed to the community...

I agree with puzz anyway on having more server admins and basing decisions on common sense and personal judgement. Also the skill level has stagnated (declined?) to a point worse than the secret stars Era, still waiting for some up and coming team to surprise me. Probably not a single sg team besides ffs that can challenge senior players :(

How do we motivate you guys to want to be good? I would have thought personal achievement was more than enough reason to do well

sorry, where is ffs? i've asked for scrims at least 5 times, no-go. they might have disbanded.

  6. the last PS got me. HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS THINKING THAT IT WAS HIM CHRIS?! PSYCHIC!

    /sigh

    don't like that la candice

    edit;

fundamentally, i think the problem lies not just with the veterans being ragey at "newbies", but also 'said "newbies" ' (not all i know) being reluctant to learn from mistakes. while getting everyone into mumble is a good solution to boosting teamplay/comms etc, it doesn't serve its purpose wholly if people don't understand the rationale behind jumping into mumble and just talking. what i mean is, you gotta kinda inculcate the mumblyness (like googlyness!) into them yeah? don't force them into mumble because when you force someone to conform to something, they kinda do it reluctantly (because they want to play) and then maybe they won't see the bigger picture of mumbling!

that being said though, it remains undeniable that teamplay/comms is ideal in any 6s situation. for me, i don't make the effort to go to mumble for PUGs (which i do here and there few weeks back, not anymore), but instead i just spam team comms because well mumble lags my com and my fps drops significantly (resulting in worse aim than already so) - then i realise some people cannot hear my ingame comms due to them being on mumble (till now i still cannot comprehend why). -- maybe this is a valid reason for them not coming to mumble???? just a thought of course.

to newbies: please, please understand that newbies isn't a derogatory term coined by us veterans to talk to you in a condescending tone. do understand that you are relatively new to the game, (i say relative because some of us have been around since 2008, for me it was 2009) we have seen changes over the years, with each batch of "newbies" that pop up and attempt competitive play, we do spot trends that seem to indicate a downward sloping curve interms of attitude and willingness to learn, however it doesn't mean that your bunch is a hopeless bunch because till today i do see players who have the potential to make it in highdiv2, possibly div1. (i don't like saying div 1 now because to me div 1 = whole of japan and korea.) what i'm trying to say here is, don't go into a pug thinking, "hey i'm real good i'm just here to fuck around." try going into a pug thinking, "what can i learn today?" or "hey ima try to die less than what- 10 times? as a medic today"

set realistic goals for yourself, and keep a good attitude. only reason why i bother posting here is because i used to love the game - i made some real good friends here (cue: adelante) and i would hate to see it die. but at the rate things are going, i'm sure most agree that the game is dying (i don't want it to)

to veterans: try to be more accommodating bah, i mean i know some of you have really tried your best in helping (summer, fuzz) - keep it up yeah? if the newer players really don't wanna listen, then just ignore i guess, no use raging! need herbal tea afterwards, now very expensive.

to cuteman: while i do acknowledge the changes you have made as an individual over the 3398 hours you have tf2-ed, mostly for the better, and acknowledge the improvements ffs has undergone as a team, if you do wanna consider going further in this scene, there's still a long long way ahead of you. all the best

    .

to those "inbetweens": please make the effort to find a team, and stick to it. please. i hated the days when i had to scrim allstars every fuckin day because having to demo against summer was the most harrowing experience ever. also, don't make a team just for the sake of a tourney. don't disband after a tourney. make roster changes, sure - 1 or 2 is fine. don't disband and reband and rubberband all over again! nothing is more satisfying than joining/making a team, training, seeing improvements and ultimately achieving something - trust me.

sorry for this unwarranted long wall of text, but i thought it was necessary.

    everyone just chill yeah

  7. I think without AFA the level of pugs now would be really really low... so I think blaming fuzz isn't right. if anything it was the last saving grace of azn pugs at least among the new generation of players.

as for forward spawn, I haven't exactly been following but... I guess putting a demo AND med arguably the two most impt classes in forward spawn (away from the team) would mean you don't get area lockdown via sticky traps and you don't get heals/buffs via medic. both ways it seems detrimental to team as a whole unless you're confident the med+demo can do more than what they're failing to do as of the time they're hiding in forward. which is simply not possible as some self proclaimed div 1 demo in pug yesterday was simply horrid. to a certain extent in game the end justifies the means - you can't exactly say x strat that achieved y outcome was bad because theoretically it would have been better to do z strat to achieve y+ ... ultimately it depends on the thought process of your team as a whole and the situation ingame itself. all I'm saying is when I look at it (putting a demo and med in forward) the cons seem to outweigh the pros especially if you don't know for sure what the demo can accomplish after 60s of silent stagnation in forward (Russ' affirmation that you cannot grind in forward which is valid) but if your demo/med is with the team you are able to lock down chokes and provide heals which seem to benefit the team more.

this makes me a conservative little fuck player therefore I never win so you pro players should consider the pros/cons yourself and stop arguing.

of course I'm just a blabbering ex-admin (on the topic of the thread). feel free to ignore me.

I'm an admin and I take offense. You have a history of being an admin that is far from illustrious and I think you should just lurk if you have nothing else to say.

Meanwhile take a good look at what the rest have built, over five years. For no personal gain.

if it helps I meant ingame admins. sure you bunch of asiafortress admins have done awesomely lots since forever. cheers. :) :) :) :) :)
