1. DID YOU HAVE FUN? Yes! 2. What was the most enjoyable and worst part about the entire mash? Most enjoyable part for me was watching the newer players in the team really give it their all and fight for the team. You guys really improved in the span of just a few games Worst part was how I only had 30 minutes of sleep before starting, leaving me extremely groggy initially. Wasn't helped by the length, but I got sober halfway through I guess 3. What did you learn from our mentors? AGGRO AR PUSH LA YEAH LAAAAA 4. Do you think you improved as a player today? Definitely. Dem crosssbows. 5. What did you like / dislike about your team? Haven't pocketed Shounic again in a very long time, so that was quite a nostalgia trip for me. Loved how we would often start out slow, especially the initial matches, but eventually would pull together and act as a whole cohesive unit to really shock and awe the other team. Was great fun. Disliked? Hmm...I'd say the lack of teamwork and listening to comms at the start by several members initially, but I guess it's entirely forgiveable in the chaos and initial confusion. 6. How can the mash format be improved? Definitely, definitely, not one ridiculously long marathon like it was. I'd say 2-3 hours is a long enough stretch at most before people start getting really lethargic and have stuff to do and whatnot. Better planning of subs to prevent the mild drama we saw. Organization could use work, especially the syncing of matches which was bordering on disaster at the start but Shounic really pulled it all together with the later ones so that's good 7. Any vets/newbs that you’d like to shoutout to? Saki needs hugs for staying through the whole thing despite his team's difficulties <3 Nominations: Best Mentor: iridescentFUZZ Best Team: Team BFFs obviously Most OP subs Team: Biggest Carry: Destiny MVP of Your Team: Netflux Best Player: Netflux Best Demo: iridescentFUZZ Best Soldier: Shounic Best Scout: Netflux AGAIN Best Medic: Omega (dem Ubersaws) Best Map: Metalworks Other Comments: Great event see you guys again soon

Tiring as hell but lots of fun! Had many great moments playing together and bonding with people who I've never scrimmed with before Thanks to miracles and slayer who really improved along the way, Netflux who was a scary as hell Scout/Sniper, Nova who was a great roamer, Shounic who is the most aggro Soldier/Demo ever, and Error who subbed for us and impressed everyone! Great event, hope to have another event like that soon!

New AsiaFortress unlock whitelists and off-classing guidelines
Caldoran replied to iridescentFUZZ's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I'm sure a subset of people would instead offclass more for various reasons (rebellion, contrarian, or etc.) despite the new rules in place. But as I said, from my own limited experience, I have seen less whimsical offclassing from the majority of players in the majority of PUGs I've been in because there are now much clearer criterions and mediums to judge when offclassing has gone too far. However, if unlike me, someone has seen an increase in offclassing in the majority of players in the majority of PUGs instead, it would be interesting to note here. -
New AsiaFortress unlock whitelists and off-classing guidelines
Caldoran replied to iridescentFUZZ's topic in General Discussion
I feel the main difficulty in creating rules governing off-classing is the inherent difficulty (or impossibility) to determine who is whimsically offclassing and who is genuinely attempting to help out the team at a particular point in time. And even if it was possible, there are instances of players who genuinely believe they - or even really do - help out the team best as a full-time Sniper or Heavy, further complicating matters. Honestly from my own limited experience and perspective, and please point out if I'm wrong, the new rules have worked reasonably well. I've seen less rampant and ridiculous offclassing, though as teal points out perhaps at the cost of creativity (?) and freedom. I feel the timing and percentage rules are unintuitive because they are hard (silly, even) to track in-game, but I do think the rule of teammates complaining is logical, although once again hard to keep in check. Does a single team member have the power to effectively block any offclassing whatsoever, even in clearly valid situations? Between restrictive offclassing rules and a place where players can offclass as and when they want, I'd prefer the former. I don't see a suitable middle ground here; Once again please point out if I'm wrong. Allowing for more "creative" usages of offclasses, as appropriate as they may be, inevitably creates exceedingly gray areas for admins to nail down people who offclass to troll because they could always use the "experiment" excuse, which in turn makes it much harder to keep the quality of PUGs up. Personally, I think a sensible next step would be to lightly loosen the unintuitive "timing" and "percentage" rules and see how it (adversely) affects the offclassing situation, before moving on to alter more rules. -

New AsiaFortress unlock whitelists and off-classing guidelines
Caldoran replied to iridescentFUZZ's topic in General Discussion
How about the relationship between Sniper and Viaduct (or KOTH maps in general)? -
I suggest, first of all, anything out of the ESEA/UGC whitelist being out of bounds for discussion for the time being, including (grudgingly) the Quick Fix. Reason being such unlocks are either complete nonsense (Pomson, Gunslinger, Sandman, etc.) or highly controversial (Quick Fix, Battalion's Backup). Weapons I would suggest included in the "introduction stages" AKA "not full retard": Force-a-Nature, Winger Black Box, Market Gardener Backburner, Flare Gun Ambassador These weapons are either weaker than their stock/unlock counterparts but can shine in certain situations, or are reasonably well-balanced and can make for interesting plays with the right skill set.
-
Yeah I understand that, which is mindboggling because it only affects the stock Stranges/Killstreaks and not everything else including reskins, which completely defeats the purpose.
-
On the topic of Stranges and Killstreaks, I see no basis for keeping (only some of) them banned. The notifications no longer pop up for anyone but the owner. Also, only stock variants are banned. I believe unlocks and reskins, including Festives and Botkillers, are not. That's why Jopper's Killstreak Kritz cannot be blocked by the whitelist alone, but my Killstreak Syringe Gun could. It's both illogical and inconsistent at this point to keep the upgradable versions of stock weapons banned simply because it's possible with the way the whitelist works.
-
Clearly there is an inherent problem with the Quick Fix and not the fact that it was Gullywash in the finals for Invite with actual cash on the line and with a weapon that literally just got buffed a few days before. Best course of action is just to ban it to ensure we can continue playing the same game from 2009 and ignore the bone Valve has thrown us, instead of attempting whatsoever to develop a metagame or new strategy around it. As Aspencc said, I'm not pushing for a ridiculous whitelist with Gunslinger and Sandman allowed, amongst other nonsense. But at least attempts to allow interesting sidegrades such as the Black Box would go miles to improve the current stale metagame, instead of pointing at practically all the unlocks and declaring "This does not exist!". Even ETF2L is trying.
-
Not Professional, but I'd like my glowing green Specialized Syringe Gun please. P.S. ESEA whitelist <3

Pretty sure a summary wasn't located anywhere near the beginning of the post, so that was quite a feat getting the gist of an 11 paragraph post even before the introduction was complete. Such comprehension skills should be recognized and applauded, definitely.
-
Try getting past the third paragraph in the future?
-
I heard the Crossbow's currently bugged. Switching weapons reloads the Crossbow faster than normal. Also, we definitely didn't already have enough Medics running the Crossbow.
-
Guys I only have 3GB data per month. 64K warning pls. Agree with the overall message in spammah's post. As long as we have responsible, fair and unbiased admins who are able to clearly justify their actions (or lack thereof in a separate case), I think the situation will improve greatly. In fact, from what I've seen in my limited time playing again, it already has, but I may very well be wrong.

Congrats Team InAde-Quagy!
