Hello! It's nice to meet you all! I'm glad that Asia has it's own community of players that help each other out! Anyways, I eventually got bored of just doing random stuff with my friends on random servers like Medic pan chains and whatnot. I wanted to move on, I wanted to get better. I'm afraid that I'll get flamed and whatnot, that's what's keeping me from playing a PUG. I want friendly people to play with, someone to go with me until I get comfortable at Pugging. If the AsiaFortress community can do this, I'll be damned. I am sorry if I sound a little whiney and stuff, but I just gotta get over that leap and I'm all done after that. Thanks to everyone! (This is one heck long intro)

Hey there, welcome to Asiafortress! Chances are that you will be scolded during your first PUG, to be blatantly honest. I got scolded and so did a bunch of my friends. But once you pass that initial barrier, PUGs can be really fun. Most of the lower level PUGs (Generalization, please don't flame me) take place at AF PUG SG #4 due to it having no server whitelist. This is a good place to get your basics right as there are less higher level players that join (Generalization again, just what I observe, not the absolute fact.) High level PUGs can also occur in SG #4.

Once you get better and fulfill the requirements here: http://asiafortress.com/index.php/index.html/_/news/asiafortress-pug-server-whitelist-approval-thread-r121 , You can try high level PUGs (Generalization, you know the drill, don't take my absolute word for it) at AF SG #2 and #3, of course, #4 will still be available to you.

List of servers can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/asiafortpug

Don't be discouraged if people get angry at you. Instead, I found it more beneficial to pay some attention to what the better players say e.g. You should have done this, this and this. Of course, don't follow blindly (Think for yourself). The previous time I played with spammah (A player), He summed the reason for the rages (Most of them) up quite well.

spammah: Don't take what I said to heart. PUGs are competitive so we tend to get a little edgy when we lose.

At least what I remembered he said. Then, he gave the player some tips. :)

If you need guides, you can try searching the archive on this forum or check the Asiafortress Academy section of the forum.

Some tips on the PUG plugin:

When the camel appears, get ready to roll, when some rain or whatever (You'll know it when you see it) appears in chat, you roll to spec, basically go to spectate so try binding a key (Google how to) to join team spectator for faster rolling.

If you become the medic captain because you did not roll fast enough, Picking is simple. Just press the number key corresponding to the player of your choice.

Custom HUDs can be googled for but I like this HUD created by a member of Asiafortress, bob:
