PiercingCard 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2012 Tf2 recently for me has been really laggy and even though i used fps configs and just about lowered everything i have been getting really inconsistent framerate ranging from 100-40. The framerate drops to about 40-50-ish during huge gunfights and when lots of people gather around in a tight spot.Should i upgrade my computer? Here are my specs : Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120330-1504) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard System Model: s5588d BIOS: 07/12/10 14:03:04 Ver: 6.12 Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 3960MB RAM Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5450
natapon 124 Report post Posted June 7, 2012 don't look like you need to upgrade. looks like a system cluttered with junkware eating up system resources. your i5 650 is a dual core hyper-threaded cpu, (2 physical => total 4 logical). Link to your system specs. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c02470547&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=101&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=4162194&prodTypeId=12454 Uninstall all junkware (hp related utilities) and antivirus. Run ccleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard. Do a defrag using auslogics disk defrag http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/download/. After all this, let me know if there is any improvement.
