Hey guys most of you have used my server quite a fair bit, and i would like to gather some feedback.

 

To those of you who haven't feel free to try it out.

 

The IP :

202.71.97.81:21000

 

The Password :

By default there is no password in place other then when there is a PUG/SCRIM going on. The password then is "airshotmylove"

By default the server runs MGE training mod 24/7 with no time limit.

MGE training mod is a training map, which allows multiple players to duel/train againts one another in a 1 versus 1 fashion.

 

There are several arena to practice various maps such as cp_badland and cp_granary. There is also a endif arena which hones your airshot capability.

 

Other then the training mod, i have tried make it so that pug/scrim can be run easily if sufficient players are in the server. I have made it so it's fully reliant on the players without needing an admin present. This saves my time as well as your time to look for an admin.

List of commands available to players :

 

!votemenu :

 

This is your typical votemenu allowing option such as map change, kick, ban and muting players via voting.

 

!matchstart :

 

This triggers the tournement mode.

And at the same time sets a password on the server.

 

!matchend :

 

Incase a case of retarded-ness happens this command allow player to end the tournament.

 

!ready :

 

My server doesn't allow "ready-ing" up via the F4 menu.

Instead every player has to individually "ready" up by inserting this command.

 

This is to somewhat prevent players from afking at round start and stop retards from "ready-ing" up and "unready-ing" causing P-rec to trigger.

 

!unready/!noready:

 

This command un-ready the individual player. So there is no reason to !ready up and go away for toilet/fapping or whatever reason without unreadying up.

 

!readystatus:

 

This allows players to check on who is ready and who isn't.

 

!start:

 

This commands starts the game. You will need a minimum of 5 players to ready up before you can start. Recommended players is 6.

 

!teamname :

 

This allows players in each team to change the team name.

 

Thats all the command there is.

As you can see you don't really need a admin present and it's all talk during the pre-game phase. So the list of "have not played" can be informed by the spectators.

 

Captain Choosing:

 

I am going to follow hcaz rule of picking/choosing a captain/medic.

 

1 : Players fill up red & blue team until there is 12 players in the map.

2 : Everyone rush to join spec and last 2 will become captain/medic.

3 : Players are encourage to follow this rule and those not willing to be medic/captain should try to find a replacement.

4 : If no one wants to replace the 3rd last person shall become a medic with the player opting under my advice should not be picked.

5 : New players are exceptional to the rule and senior players should try to replace as medic/captain them unless they want to.

 

Summary of how to PUG :

 

1. Map being played is MGE training mod.

2. Enough players is present to PUG.

3. A player vote to via !votemenu.

4. Players starts tournament mode in new map via !matchstart.

5.Captain is chosen and players !ready up.

6.Everybody is ready and match is started with !start

7.Game is over.

 

By right once the match is over the server should change the map back to MGE mod so from there players can votemap and decide again if they want to form another PUG.

 

If there is something wrong and the map does not change level. Please change it for me via votemenu and inform me.

 

Please comment or give me feedback if there is anything wrong with the setup or config.

 

I cannot help in ping/lag issues.

Starhub users will get low ping where else Singnet users have variable time when they get low ping or high. Not sure why this happens.

Please don't kick spectators. Must find a better way to allow public users to get this map if you want to have more players. Many Singapore players still lag so PUGs rarely happens here. Hey guys, i going to shut the server down soon.

 

Due to work commitments and other issues my tf2 playing time has significantly lowered.

 

Sorry about this again, i might continue the server once i am more financially stable.
