    Congratulations to 6Kings E-Sports

    for being the AFLAN.SG GRAND CHAMPIONS!

     

     

    AFLAN.SG has come and gone! Thank you to all who helped, came, played and supported! Even though we encountered a series of hiccups while planning and on the day itself, the fact that it could happen is truly a success! Congratulations to Coy and Sharkbait who came in 2nd and 3rd place respectively! All the teams brought their A-Game to the LAN and fought a good fight. Special shoutout to Sharkbait & The Homely Hobos. These two teams have great chemistry and teamwork. We look forward to seeing big things in your future!

     

    Congratulations to Bigfoot who emerged as MGE Champion, with Ketiak coming in 2nd and Combustion 3rd!

     

    Big thanks to Colosseum for sponsoring the venue for us with what limited funds we had. None of this could have happened with you. A special shout-out to Donald for pulling through in more ways than one and to Jacky, the on-site technician, for being so patient running around tirelessly all day!

     

    Thank you to the other Team Fortress 2 communities: Lowyat, OAG and Nietono who helped us advertise AFLAN.SG. Biggest thanks to eXtelevision for their shout out on eXtine's vlog!

     

    To Cuteman, Saki, Puzz, Rufus, Summer, Cleric, Madman, Russkan, Azazel and Bait who helped with the casting. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Cuteman you deserve a medal. Your energy at 1am in the morning was still bouncing off the roof!

     

    To nagy, thank you for being the photographer for the event!!! The pictures look amazing and hopefully will be up soon :D

     

    To Candice, thank you for helping out with the amazing posters and lanyard designs. I know there were a lot of changes to be made a long the way so thank you for being so patient (:

     

    To my organizing committee, thank you for keeping me sane. Caldoran, even though we roped you in last minute to help out with the servers, you did an amazing job! Thank you so much. Erio, I know we've had trying times, but you handled the challenges that came your way despite everything that has happened. Also, thank you for taking on additional work load because you knew I had exams the past week. To Summer and Madman, despite serving time in the army, the insights that both of you have truly made a difference. Thank you for not losing the faith!

     

    We know that we have a lot to work on in order to make the next Asiafortress LAN better, so do remember to leave us your feedback in this thread.

     

    It has been a rollercoaster ride for the past few months trying to make this LAN happen, All of you make me feel like the past few months were not a waste. I cannot thank you enough for that.

    The Homely Hobos played fantastic games. We were all so blown away by how well they played and fought to stay on each round. Really amazing job guys, you can only get better from here!

     

    Sharkbait was beasting and it was so great to see all of them come together as a team even though they had no coms during one of their matches. Kudos to you for making 3rd place at LAN! Ry4n is SO calm when he plays it's insane. Saki, you're a lovely person who radiates positivity. Don't ever change (:

     

    Coy, I apologize for making you guys wait so long for your matches and for the myriad of technical difficulty you had to go through  :( It was a pleasure watching you guys play and there's no doubt that you are a very strong team. Russkan, you exude leadership (even at 1am in the morning when I know you were exhausted because I saw you napping in one corner at one point) and the trust your entire team had in you is commendable and admirable.

     

    6Kings, Rufus was your drill sergeant and all of you were his bitches  :D Pinkie Pie, your sentry kills were AMAZING!! I forgot who played spy but that pick on the med was gold (was it Pinkie again? haha). Summer, you're always amazing to me and I love you  :wub:  (SORRY FOR BIAS GUYS) Congratulations on being the Supreme Champion of AFLAN.SG (according to challonge when a tournament has run its course haha).

    Rufus really tried to get the twitch.tv stream up, but unfortunately it was too choppy. It kept buffering and it looked so pixelated ): If anyone knows a possible solution/alternative method, please post in the feedback thread! Thank you (:

    Firstly, thank you all so much for coming down to support this event! I know we had a lot of hiccups and time could have been better managed, so thank you for your never ending patience (especially to coy who had to wait so long to play their matches. I apologize!!).

     

    This thread is for those who went for AFLAN.SG to give their feedback on how we can better improve a LAN event. Please give constructive criticism. Sarcasm, drama, personal vendettas and feuds are not to be posted in this thread.

     

    We need your feedback to know where to correct our wrongs and learn from our mistakes. So please, help us by being as constructive as possible!

    So prizes will be given to top 3 only? So what about the other teams who paid $15? Are there like any participation or consolation prizes whatsoever?

    Due to budget constraints, we were only able to procure the prizes for the Top 3 6v6 Lan teams. There are still other prizes to be won for the MGE Deathmatch and the Lucky Draw! If this LAN shows promise, we will strive our best to be able to improve things the next time around!

    will the lan be canceled because only 6 teams signed up? (altho 36 people are supporting this, and bobb... poor bobb)

     

    I really hope that it will not come to that. Updates on the LAN will be coming up shortly, a new poster will be out with the list of prizes to be won.

    so is it allowed to bring your own monitor? or no

     

    Colosseum has recommended our players not to bring their monitors along as it would be a hassle to set up on that day. We would be dealing with a pretty tight time line and do not want any unnecessary delays! We hope you understand!

    Its like I'm just having fun on pugs, sometimes as demo, solly, scout etc with the offclasses and then when I want to play the next pug I have to medic as either the team picked me forced me to medic or the person from the previous game opted out and made me the medic caption instead. Fine, I'll medic this round as I can't do anything else. But when the round is over and the next pugs rolling start, since i have no key binded to join spectate, I am relatively slow and so I am still the medic. BUT I can opt out because of that whatever you call it system. However, when I subbed for someone(think its nova) as medic before the game even started(when they are still warming up and haven't said ready yet) and after that round (30 mins) the next one, that was gully, seeing as my rolling is so damn slow i was still the med and YET i cant opt out. Wtf? is this a glitch or smth? because then i raged quitted and then got perma ban. I mean like srsly you can give people a chance right? SometimesI really wonder whether admins just ban people they find a newbie/noob/irritating...... And pls fix that glitch i beg you asiafortress

     

    The solution is simple, bind a key for your spectate button and you will no longer be facing the issue of rolling too slowly.

     

    Next, if you do want to get unbanned, I suggest that you take your attitude down a notch and maybe apologize for being a tad rude to the admin team. You know that whether or not you get unbanned is up to Nata and not you right? They are only human, and are running Asiafortress out of their own time. It is not an easy job. I'm not saying they are perfect, but a certain amount of respect and decorum is to be practiced in these forums. Especially if you are trying to get a point you feel strongly about across.

     

    I see that you have already posted in the Ban Appeal thread. That's a good first step. Be more careful next time, and I wish you the best of luck.

     

    p/s You really should bind your spectate key. I hope you've done it because I assure you that it'll save you a world of hurt.
