The competitive community of any competitive game is meant to provide stiff competition, hence the term competitive is used to describe the level of competition in play. Because you're no longer playing the game to have fun, you're stretching yourself in the game to have fun. The point is if you are unwilling to deal with some initial new-guy-labels or the trolls then don't. It's not impossible to get started in comp tf2 but it isn't for everyone. If you're the type to want to take a game seriously then you'd be willing to sit through the flames and the ego and the pessimists. Then you'll find that there are still people who enjoy getting better scrim by scrim; people who don't want to see the scene die. You're being unfair by writing everyone off by only lurking the forums and paying attention to the trolls who are the only ones still posting, myself included. You're also being a total douche by assuming the comments came from the pug scene, those are pubbers that are hating on you. That said, you're simply passing every piece of criticism as the work of trolls. Don't be too quick to assume your commentaries are not utter crap in terms of both gameplay and dictation. No hard and fast method. Most pugs are started simply by 2 people duelling or crate-sing till more join and everyone starts inviting enough.
