  5. 1. League Format 1A. Fixtures Regular season match fixtures will be posted prior to the start of the season. Match organisation/discussion threads will be posted in the Match Discussion forum. Playoffs and finals fixtures and rules will be posted at the conclusion of the regular season. 1B. Ranking Teams are ranked by order of: (1) points and (2) rounds win and loss difference. If teams are of equal standing after (1) and (2) there will be playoffs after the regular season. The following points will be awarded after a match has been completed. Overall Points: 4 Points for an match win 2 Points for a drawn match 1 Point for an match loss Forfeits: 4 Points for the forfeit receiver 0 Points for team which forfeited 1C. Map selection In each match thread, the home and away team will be specified as well the map pool for that round. Map selection will be carried out in this order. The home team eliminates one map from the list of five maps The away team eliminates one map from the four remaining maps The home team then picks one map as their map selection from the three remaining maps The away team then picks one map as their map selection from the two remaining maps Each team has a 24 hour window to choose their map. If they fail to choose a map in this time then the other team will choose both maps. 1D. Maps 5 CP Maps cp_granary cp_badlands cp_follower cp_freight_final1 cp_obscure_final cp_coldfront cp_gullywash KOTH Maps koth_viaduct CTF Maps ctf_turbine A/D Maps cp_gravelpit 1DA. Time Based Maps cp_pro_dustbowl cp_gravelpit cp_gorge Asiafortress Leagues use the scoring format of ABBA(AB) to ease calculation of results. A small reminder of what ABBA(AB) is: With stopwatch ON. The home team will attack first, the away team will then respond to the home teams attack. Once completed the winning team will receive ONE (1) point. The teams will then switch sides and the away team will set the stopwatch time first, following by the home teams response. The winner of this will receive one point. The score is to be reported as how many rounds you win. eg: 1-2, 2-0. If at the end of the ABBA round, teams are tied at 1-1, an additional set of AB will be played out where the home team attacks first again. Draws are not allowed in time-based maps. 1DB. Mirrored Maps First to five or 30 minutes. 1DC. King Of The Hill Maps First to four or 30 minutes. 2. Matches 2A. Pre-match Responsibilities The team who has the responsibility of organising the server should set up the server for the match with the required settings outlined in rule section 3, 15 minutes before the organised start of the match. Once the server is ready, contact the other team via the prior agreed method during the match time negotiation and give them the appropriate server details. Both teams should be in the server and ready to start the match no later than 15 minutes after the agreed match start time. size] 2AA. Post-match Responsibilities Both teams must reply to the match discussion thread with the results of both maps within three hours of the match ending. Clans must clearly state who the winner of each map was and by what margins(eg: cp_granary 4-1 to team spammah, , cp_gravelpit 1-0 to team anas, cp_badlands 2-2 DRAW) If a team has used a mercenary, they must post the mercenaries name in the same post which reports the outcome of the match. If only one team submits results, then they will be accepted without verification, so make sure you either confirm the posted results or challenge them if they are incorrect. In the case of neither team submitting results, a forfeit will be recorded against both teams. 2B. Minimum Number of Eligible Players Teams must have a minimum of five rostered (i.e. does not include any mercenaries) players ready to start or continue a match. 2C. Mercenaries (regarding teams) A maximum of one mercenary may be used during a regular season round. No mercenaries are permitted during the playoffs. A mercenary can be used without the permission of the other team if they are a member of a team currently active in the same division. If the proposed mercenary is not a member of any team participating in the Asiafortress League, they are strictly forbidden from playing. The following guidelines apply: It is clearly and honestly communicated to the other team who the mercenary is and why they are being used. A mercenary cannot be used in place of an available eligible player. The mercenary must be named when reporting or confirming results in the match thread. The mercenary in question does not break rule 2CA. Mercenaries are designed to give teams flexibility to meet their league commitments when unforseen circumstances prevent a team fielding their normal roster. They are not designed to give teams a competitive edge, and teams found doing so, will find themselves deducted points for the matches the mercenary participated in. 2CA. Mercenaries (regarding mercenary) A mercenary may only play for each team only once. 2D. Demo Recording Teams should attempt to arrange for a recording STV to be present for their match. If one cannot be arranged or the STV does not record, one player from each team MUST be able to provide a POV demo. All players must be able to provide a POV demo should a dispute arise. 2E. Spectators Under no circumstances are spectators allowed in a game with the exception of ShoutCasters and League Administrator (unless they are members of either team). A team with more than 6 players in a server will be disqualified. 2F. Sportsmanship Teams participating are required to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner once the match has started. Global chat is frowned upon unless it's limited and friendly in nature. Any abusive chat is prohibited, and point deductions will occur for teams who breach this rule. 2G. Class Restrictions The following class restrictions apply in AsiaFortress Season 3 1 Medic 1 Demoman 1 Heavy 1 Engineer 1 Spy 2 Scouts 2 Snipers 2 Soldiers 2 Pyros These must be enforced using the 'tf_tournament_classlimit_X' commands. 2H. Weapon Unlocks and Game-play Settings Critical hits: OFF Damage spread: OFF Fixed weapon spread: ON UNLOCKABLES BANNED Scout Sandman is banned. Crit-A-Cola and Bonk (Only one per team) Soldier Buff Banner (Only one per team) Heavy Natascha is banned. Killing Gloves of Boxing is banned. Engineer Wrangler is banned. Gunslinger is banned. All polycount items except the holy mackerel are banned. All other unlockables are allowed. 2I. Pausing during a match Pausing during a match will now be allowed where players clearly exhibit (technological) performance issues. As a guideline, the pause should not last longer than five minutes before teams attempt to find a replacement. Both teams must give the all clear to un-pause. Excessive use of this function or use for inappropriate matters will be heavily punished. Reporting such inappropriate use should be done as a dispute to a match upon which the League Administrators will make a ruling. How to pause: Make sure sv_pausable "1" is set, as required. To pause: Execute the pause command in the game console. By default it is bound to the Pause/Break key. To un-pause: Execute the pause command again. Please note any player in the server is able to pause and unpause the game. 2J. Rescheduling If for whatever reason a match cannot be played within the time frame, and both teams consent to a round extension, they are required to contact their division's assigned administrator as soon as possible for approval. 3. Servers 3A. Acceptable Servers To be regarded as an acceptable server, the server must: Have no lower than 256 tickrate/server fps A SourceTV running Official configuration files If you require a SourceTV relay, please try to provide us as much notice as possible. Please contact spammah or hcaz for booking and SourceTV demo retrieval. Servers choose by either team must provide playable pings for one team or the other. 3B. Configurations [ 5 Point CP Maps ] [ Stopwatch Maps ] [ King Of The Hill ] 3C. Ping Imbalance The difference between each team's average pings can be no greater than fifty (50) milliseconds. Pings must be confirmed by logging into the agreed upon server. Loss and choke will in no way be an acceptable reason not to play in a server; ping will be the only determining factor. If the difference between the average team pings is less than fifty (50) milliseconds, the server is acceptable for play. Each team has the RIGHT to play at least one half of the match in their server, provided it falls within the Ping Imbalance rule. The Home team will choose which half to play on their server, if two servers are going to be used. If neither team can provide a server that is within the Ping Imbalance rule Asiafortress league admins will determine what server MUST be used for the match.
  6. ASIAFORTRESS MOVES ON TO A FOURTH SEASON! It's been a roller-coaster ride with THREE back-to-back (well, almost) seasons for competitive Team Fortress 2 in Asia! This sets the milestone and is completely unprecedented in terms of most seasons in a year and shows just how far we've gotten to in the span of 8 months as a community! AsiaFortress couldn't have gotten this far without YOU. This couldn't have been done without YOU. Yes, every single one of you, every individual, every volunteer, every admins, every spectator, every game-caster and finally, every team and player who participated. Yes, things don't always work out the way you'd expect them to and you'll naturally hit a few bumps on the road of various sorts. However, that being said, the existence of a community-based Team Fortress 2 website in Asia in what was deemed earlier to be an unstable and fruitless endeavor has been proven wrong by all of us. So thank you. Every single one of you who has followed and supported and helped build the site to what it is today. Without further ado, we are proud to announce AsiaFortress Season IV! Registrations will begin on the 10th of October. We are partnered once again with GAMESTAH.com to provide you live gamecasts of the hottest matches. Expect community updates at our Facebook and Twitter pages as well! ----------- Winners of past seasons: Season 1: Such Lovely Pancakes [sLP] (beat .er 5-1, 5-1) Season 2: Dizziness (beat Cataclysmic 5-2, 3-4, 2-1) Season 3: [Division 1]: Fuck Me Laterally aka The Fluffy 6 (beat Galaxy 1-5, 5-1, 2-0) [Division 2]: Xtremely Generic Name [XGN] (beat Team SWT 4-3, 3-2)

  24. Okay, decided that the mentor program would be a great initiative to help the new teams get to a better standard than what they are right now. 2 Kinds of Mentoring Approach Individual A consultative approach between applicants and mentors to address specific class/role issues. As a general guide, a mentoring session will last between 30-45 mins. The purpose of individual mentoring is to help players with very specific issues, not to teach you how to play the entire class from scratch. If you're a demo wanting to improve your spire defense, feel free to apply. If you're a demo who doesn't know what spire is, come back in 6 months. Team A wider-reaching approach where the mentor becomes embedded with your team by playing in scrims, coaching on mumble, giving post-scrim debrief sessions etc. Mentors are able to address a range of issues over a longer period of time, and help a larger number of players improve through their mentoring. Mentors can sub in scrims to demonstrate how to play a particular role, improve other team areas such as rollout/attacking/defending, and help to improve team communication. Rules of the mentoring programme: 1. Mentors are not obligated to fulfill your request. If your availability doesn't match ours, or you (and your team) have a history of being a jerk, you will miss out. 2. Don't harass your mentors. 3. And for mentors, if you decided to take on this job. Put in your all and help the team/ player achieve the best they can. Application: 1. Player/Team Name 2. Availability 3. Desired Mentor 4. Specific areas you need help in. All mentors-wannabes please drop me a PM, so I can update the mentor list ASAP for the applicants to use as reference in their application. Mentors please apply in this format: 1. Name 2. Areas you wish to mentor 3. Availability 4. Past Experiences? Current Mentor List 1. Yuko - General team communication, strategies - Medic 2. Wish - Team, Individuals - Demoman Currently Mentoring: 3. Audi0 - General team communication, strategies - Scout, Sniper 4. Hcaz - Anything related to TF2 5. Nnnx - TEAM Skills: 6v6 Basics, Introduction to Pushing, Uber-Management and Turtle tactics. 6. Flare - Soldier Currently Mentoring: - Astatine Please give this programme your all, to make it a resounding success. Thanks.
