This season of Kaun Banega Crorepati witnessed a grand episode as on the night of 9th November, Prashant Batar from Meerut had almost won Rs. 1 crore and lost it as well within split seconds. This was probably the most breathtaking episode of KBC anchored by Sir Amitabh Bachchan. Prashant was supposed to be the first crorepati of KBC season 4.

 

Furthermore, this episode will always be a memorable one as this is the first time in the show’s history that a contestant actually lost Rs. 1 Crore after winning it. Prashant was a cautious player as he won Rs. 6, 40,000 on his first sitting on Monday and what’s more, all his lifelines were unused.

 

His smart calculations led him to earn Rs. 1 crore and with a great round of applause he was almost the first one to win Rs. 1 crore and everyone expected him to quit thereafter. However, he went ahead to take the plunge and decided to play for the jackpot round winning which would have earned him Rs. 5 crore.

 

His jackpot question was indeed a tough one and instead of quitting Prashant decided to answer it. In the question he had to name the first person who was born in 1978 in Antarctica. He had no idea about the exact answer and he took help of the lifeline known as the ‘double dip’.

 

To add to the disappointments he failed drastically to answer the question twice. Lastly, a highly depressed Big B told him that he has lost both the jackpot round and the prize money of Rs. 1 crore. His prize money dropped straight from 1 crore to 3, 20,000. In a nutshell his Rs 96, 80,000 were gone at the blink of an eyelid.
