Im actually pretty open to the idea of sidegrade weapons but there has to be proper reasoning and support on why each wep should be allowed on a case by case basis. Believe me buff banner is the ultimate stalemate weapon and it's more novelty than anything

I guess some of the foreigners like creep or bongera are usually quite open to scrimming? I've asked them as late as 11 on fri/sat nights and they agreed... Your opinion is so generalized. Be appreciative you joined at a time when the community is fking welcoming and there are guides and YouTube videos for you, even a pug server with special mod which took nata hours of coding. Don't expect veterans to be nice to you if you come to our pugs and expect us to serve everything nicely to you on a silver platter and treat you like gods. I once felt like you (go search the infamous rage thread) but as time went by i realized how many people arent sincere about wanting to get better or grow the community Besides, flaoty who you mentioned is one of the cunts who constantly goes sniper when he should be roaming and hits like 1 out of 10 shots. Agree with most of what cuteman said. Most players now lack initiative to do anything at all whether it be just finding scrims, or even being there on time, let alone contributing back to the community. I spend so much time looking for games when everyone else says "cannot find leh" and then i manage to get one, so i don't think they actually try. If the pug servers can be full everyday, how is that we have a lack of teams or even serious mixes? If you honestly want to improve, put in the effort, if not our standard and our community will remain stagnant as it is. P.S: I'M BOOKING OUT AT 1500 WTB SCRIM TONIGHT 10PM

Sure having an offclass is viable but you must have a team that plays around those strats. Masterful used to have the threat of panda as a full time spy and that worked out because we could go all out aggro on more cautious enemies. Im protects sheep really well but then he never fails to pick off targets.. You're right to say that offclassing at certain times is viable to mix the game up but do you think pug teams know how to adapt to it?worse is that news sitting in spec would try to replicate without understanding which is the cancer of most pugs these days. Everyone has their reasons i guess. Personal reasons like school, other games or hobbies are just some of them. For those pertaining to the game, TF2 is "outdated" in general, and not only that, those players who have put in time to the game have done it all for nothing. It's never going to be big like dota or cs where we have local or global tournies. If you win The International you can pocket close to a million dollars, but if you win ESEA or Insomnia, you only get a few hundred each max. Don't even mention our Asian scene where you get either just a front page post on the AF site saying you've won 1st place, or just a couple of refined metals. I still play because it was through this game i met many awesome people, and it's hard to find such a simple shooter which has such unique concepts which make it fun and replayable. Bloody hell, you shoot a rocket at your feet and you fly? And also healing guns... beats AKs and m16s anytime!

Since when has anybody after the 2008 - 2011 era cared about the growth of the community? It's always been a few individuals running the show (nata, zach, emir), the rest just play because they enjoy the game, but not giving a fuck about the people who actually have contributed or put in effort. I still remember Xilver who went through so much effort of setting up an AF IRC which could be used in game but nobody helped to get it started, and now you guys only know him as that sniper who doesn't give a fuck... Anyway on the topic of the pug offclassing, you can't have a fixed set of rules. It's up to the admins to make the best decision based on the situation, and these admins should be picked by nata based on his judgement. Idk the reason why he has taken away our kicking privileges but he should have only removed it for the guys who have proved themselves irresponsible in positions of power (e.g. THARNOS: who kicks people because he loses or doesn't like your face, and also offclasses freely). My criteria for teammates choosing to offclass: 1) If you're anything OTHER than a scout/roamer, you have absolutely no right to off-class in most situations. The most I can think of is the pocket switching out to heavy to push lasts but almost everything else isn't viable. 2) Most common form of offclassing is playing sniper. If you're a player like sud/k1 who can hit shots during midfights, I won't complain, though I DO tell them to change if they aren't doing shit. If you snipe on gran mid after I explicitly tell you not to, I will fucking want to ban you instantly. Anyway in 6v6 there was never an intention to have "utilities". The cookie cutter classes are what they are BECAUSE they have been proven since 2007 - present day to be the most effective in the most fights. Sure you backstab or hs a medic at mid, but that one less scout leaves your flanks wide open and your team gets destroyed because they don't have that extra useful class which draws enemy fire, denies jumpers, harasses, and whatever other shit the scout is supposedly capable of doing. Unless you're a sniper that can constantly quick scope 150-dmg enemies, air-hs jumpers and just basically aid your team, then carry on. Just remember that you gave up your roaming/scout responsibility (which are easier to achieve aim consistency) to benefit your team, so don't do it just for personal glory because nobody gives a fuck about your p-rec bookmarks which will appear in the frag movie that you'll never make. Lastly, admins and most other players should just follow these simple guidelines for players who are truly useless at offclassing a.k.a the Summer method: Step 1: I tell you nicely to stop offclassing Step 2: I warn you to stop offclassing Step 3: I warn you with swear words to stop Step 4: I will kick your ass if i had the fucking admin power If the same guy tries again in a separate pug, then i'd recommend a ban. TLDR version: Kick people who are useless offclassers if they fail to listen to their teammates after repeated warnings, and admins should behave themselves and not have double standards for their friends. Just remember this: People always say play to have fun, but think, is losing fun? Don't screw up the game for people who try to play the game seriously just to boost your own fucking ego.

Just pm gene and ask for a scramble lol. We have them every so often but recently they've lost most of their seriousness... Sad truth is that nobody plays to enjoy being good at the game anymore, it's all about airshots

Ah this problem has been around since forever.. like bio mentioned there'll never be a perfect solution and it's really up to the medic to be courteous enough to pick you. I have a pretty shitty com and when i finally connect to servers not only have the players rolled but there's like 4 players a side so i rarely get +1 :S Also pls play on AF servers no offence whatsoever to mokee but the pugs that happen there are offclass shitfests on who can pointblank hs scouts or get a airblast reflect airshot and whatever else...
