One of the most dedicated teams in Asia who’ve stepped it up from a mere quarter-final placing (as Fangbangers) in AFL1. After struggling to win scrims vs. second-tiered teams, Cata have come a long way, struggled through AFL2 and fought their way to a second place finishing in Season 2. However, not all is well with the current Cata squad as a vital player, yuko (medic) leaves the team due to team conflicts and the other members having exams and other real life issues. Rumor in the grapevine is that yuko has always felt under-appreciated in his time with Cata as he was the guy who did most of their match organizing and being forced to play classes he does not prefer.

Predicted strengths: Tons of experience coming into AFL3. Expect their demoman (xotic) to continue top fragging as usual backed up by well rounded soldiers, Xilver and msc. Unpredictability galore when Toshihiko goes sniper resulting in 1000 headshots.

Predicted weaknesses: New scouts having to do rotations, having to bond with a new medic (nnnta), real life commitment issues etc.

Team WUTPSWSOTI - Singapore, UAE, Malaysia

Apart from having a shitty and confusing team tag, these guys have a shitload of old-schoolers, their former team known as HNR. They have lots of individual talent however they’ve always struggled through in scrims or matches. The addition of some players ‘new’ to the pug scene and the introduction of havoK (and his mysterious disappearances) should certainly bring this team up to par with the current top Div 1 teams.

Predicted strengths: Experienced duo in the form of Acel and Wish. They know each other from the inside out! Addition of havoK boosts this team for +100000. r3sty’s a well-rounded scout. Whether he can put up a great performance in AFL3 remains to be seen. Ceemie’s shown some great talent as a demo, however he suffers from lack of confidence.

Predicted weaknesses: Uncertain abilities of Nishino, Lumi, Selr and Kw. Expect havoK to pull off some Houdini’s in some of their key matches. By that, we mean him not showing up online at all.

Team Depopulation dpN - Japan
Peanut, palo, airy, faint, Natto=), Tanzanite, Queer, nEphiles, Turbulenc, prockey, usan, Antares

Depopulation has been around since forever. Led by peanut and palo, this team has gone through some transformations, most notably picking up tanzanite to complete a well rounded roster. Scrim results have varied for this team as they have punished teams that have let their guard down.

dpN is definitely not a team to be looked down upon.

Predicted strengths: Tanzanite and peanuts play.
Predicted weaknesses: Like a lot of Japanese teams, they have been frequently unwilling to scrim on foreign servers.

Jabberwocky - Japan

An interesting new team that looks more like a mix than anything else. Led by AgLaia, they have picked up Xq’s pocket yoru, taciturn’s gelato and ex GX member lawson-nakamura.

Predicted strengths: Some good talent out of the mix. Look for Jabber to pwn everyone by their team name alone.
Predicted weaknesses: Again, the only thing really, the fact that this team looks like a mix. Hoping to see Jabberwocky pull a Jabberwocky and prove us wrong!

Team Galaxy - Japan
viNez, hi-cook, Mendoh, 4ME, Fuu, PiZZaMiNN, Donald, hari, vov, O), silco
Currently the strongest team in Japan, not much is known about this team outside of Japan (nnnta: by that we mean spammah doesn’t know anything about them). Looking at Japanese tournament results, they’ve always been one step behind Xq.

Some of the Division 1 Asiafortress teams have been scrimming GX in the Japanese servers with the results always being 5-0 5-1 rape for GX, although some of the actual fights such as mid fights or such have been close. GX are not unstoppable. Whether they can continue their dominance in foreign opponent-picked servers and stamp their authority in official results remains to be seen.

Predicted strengths: Their teamwork, co-ordination and clinical play. Superstar scout pair of viNez and vov. Superstar soldiers, PiZZaMiNN and 4ME. And some great demomen and a solid medic in hi-cook
Predicted weaknesses: GX’s ability to perform in foreign servers.

Fuck Me laterally AKA “The Fluffy 6” - US, Malaysia, Australia, India, Korea, Japan.
Cheerio, fluffyanimals, geha, hcaz, Kin, KAHOS, milky, Nemes|s, seeker, Scotty, tele, yuki.

This team is definitely one to look out for, with yuki, one of the best demoman in Austrailia. As well as people with super good aim, notably tele, scotty and geha. they can probably trash talk every team in division 1 with such diversity of players

The team that will definitely have ping issues due to their players from all over the world, also possibly communication issues as well. Foreseeable problems include: Finding a good server to play on; fluffy+hcaz rage.

Most of the new Australian players are on this team, so hopefully we see some really good trash talking and hopefully everyone understands, FUCK. And skills to back it up. Hopefully they become good additions to our community.

Running ping based lineups (if they choose to do so) may lead to their downfall.

Predicted strengths: Very strong individuals
Predicted weaknesses: : Emotions getting the better of them, communication problems(wtf is fluffy saying?), Kin, fluffyanimal’s sexual manly man’s voice sending everyone into a trance. Inconsistent lineup.

Korean teams Face o_0 and Dizziness who took part in AFL Season 2 are back and have combined forces for AFL Season 3. However, the combination of the two best Korean teams may not be as awesome as everyone may think.

Notable absences in this new roster include; opd, the current best demo in Korea (AND Asia), W40K[Life], Manufacturing aka memedic and Lawdong. The Korean TF2 pug/scrim scene is quite active though.

Predicted strengths: Team/players doing daily pugs/scrims.
Predicted weaknesses: Missing some lawdong, gayopd, life(mr pringles) and manufacturing.

Interesting Taiwan team. Supposed to be a rebirth of MX. Not much is known about this new team. The old MX team was supposedly the main motivator for WCG Singapore winners V.co to train. MX went inactive after that due to national service commitments etc.

Predicted strengths: Old-school players. MX experience.
Predicted weaknesses: Questionable practise regimen displayed by their stubborness to only scrim/pug with their local community.

Formed from a core bunch of friends; namely adsf, conggy, nasty, valent, who were also known as former top team [TFC]. This team has looked like a mix on the surface but they’ve actually been dedicated, especially after the addition of nnnx/nowi. They’ve had some great and close games in AFL2 and finished out the season with a humiliating defeat to Dizziness in the semis.

Much has changed since then. The squad has been restructured with some key notable players being brought in the form of Japanese scout superstars - ozr bakemono and Row. Astatine, ch3rry and trauma are up and coming players hoping to prove their worth in Season 3. Long-time veterans bright, valent and nasty complete out the team as soldiers. can_lah_2 will look to play full-time demo and eclipse his days in H2H (One of Singapore’s former finest).

adsf will continue to do what he does best. Be reclusive and be a gay waterboy in Changi Village. Refer to pic below for proof.

This team has been around for a while although they don't seem very active. Success for this team will be on the shoulders of Haruhi and Immunity and how well they can pull everyone together. They’ve played the previous season so their experience will carry over and hopefully rape some ass.

Predicted strengths: Strong in certain maps, experienced. Very smart because they’re in Raffles Institution.
Predicted weaknesses: : Poor coordination. Conflicted names with my clan (WUTPSWSOTI - WHY USE THE PLUS SIGN WHEN SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET) as this clan is also known as the plus sign clan.

Association Burning Hawks - Korea, HongKong, Taiwan

New Korean team to Asiafortress! These guys hail from the Korean pug scene and have since been bugged to join us in season 3 I have no idea how they will perform in their debut season but I'm sure their pug experience and the occasional scrim will help this team win a few games against the other new teams in division 2. 50/50 chance they soar high or burn out.

Predicted strengths: Might be the right mix of styles, Relatively unknown to the rest of the teams.
Predicted weaknesses: Communication and play-style conflicts.

Games Have Our Heart Thriven(GHOST) - Malaysia

The Malaysians have finally fielded another team, this time with unknown players. Hopefully they will become a long lasting part of the community. With only 7 players in their roster it will be difficult for them not to drop games due to a lack of players, either that or they must be really well organized or free.

Predicted strengths: Unknown team = unknown strategies. People will be wondering what their team name really means.
Predicted weaknesses: Might have roster problems in the middle of tournament.

Matrix[] - HongKong Taiwan China

Under their beautiful leader Apple this team has managed to surprise us with some of their performances in AFL2, namely beating one of the strongest teams of the season, #96 in cp_freight.
This Chinese team has shown us very noticeable improvements from the start of AFL2 till the end. Will they surprise us this season again and possibly taking teamwork to a newer level and rape the shit out of Divison 2 despite their slight roster changes?

P.S.: Apple please be the mascot for Asiafortress (bikini shot with asiafortress written somewhere on your body!)

This newly formed division 2 team is made up of pug regulars. With their soldier centred style, Xeon, ripple and Ratsyc will determine their pace of play and make critical decisions.
With juicycaboose and Shotz will they pull of something amazing?

Predicted strengths: Experienced team. Ratsyc able to out-trash talk you.
Predicted weaknesses: Oster rage , poor coordination.

Swt is a pretty team named after a pretty girl. Picking up a surprise public player with alot of potential naTTan (airshot my love) and an up and coming scout pair traveller and JackJsn, Swt looks set to pretty up Division 2 this season. A mystery why their tag is effing “syck.” instead of “swt.”

Predicted strengths: Demo and scout play. Pretty girl mascot = morale up as long as they isn’t emo.
Predicted weaknesses: Soldier and medic movement. Lots of raging.

Psycho Paradigm Penetrate - Korea

Despite their team name having a lot of potential to be made fun of, rumour has it that they’re not a team to be trifled with. A dark horse in this tournament as well, rumoured to be stronger than one of the strong teams in the previous season, pNoid. PSYCHO PENETRATE.

Predicted strengths: Just a strong team. Unknown playstyle to most teams
Predicted weaknesses: Endless taunting centering their clan name

The Onus - Singapore

I know who they are! Dark horses of division 2 with old school players, this team will be interesting to watch as they crash course modern tf2 competition. A huge chance that if this team coordinates well, a wave of rape will be coming this season. Any of you know what the hell Onus is? Google it! THE ONUS IS ON YOU.

One of their members is part of the white skinnies’ association, which brandon yuko is the one we hail as he is the one who perfected the art of wearing the white skinnies. All Hail bran.

Predicted strengths: Strong individuals
Predicted weaknesses: Might be playing drunk

They maybe a new team in AFL but these players have been around for a long while. A few of these players have been seen playing around some time ago but they mysteriously disappeared until recently. Were they training in some obscure country, where everything is powered by spammah’s fresh camel’s milk? We shall see.

Predicted strengths: Experienced players, camel’s milk = 300% airshots.
Predicted weaknesses: Not enough exposure, the milk becomes stale.
