Classes 101: FAQ and What To Do

So you've signed up for Classes 101, and you're not sure what to do? Don't worry! Check to see if your question is answered below, and if you're still unsure about anything feel free to ask either erio or Caldoran!

What should I do beforehand?

You should install and set up Mumble! Not sure how? Check this guide!

What time should I show up?

You should be in Mumble by 7:30 PM GMT+8 on Saturday11th June! While we are unlikely to reject latecomers, the mentors will not be covering topics already gone through, so try to be on time.

What's going to happen?

Depending on the turnout on the day, you will be assigned to different "Classrooms" in the Mumble server. In each "Classroom", there will be a mentor.

These experienced mentors will be conducting lessons on how to play the Demoman class, covering things such as rollouts, positioning, game mechanics and more.

At the end of the lesson, you will get the chance to ask the mentors any questions you may have regarding the Demoman class in competitive. Don't be shy! Everyone was new at one point, and it won't hurt to clarify anything you're unsure of.

Due to the high number of people expected to turn up, there will be a large number of questions that the mentors will have to answer, so do wait for your turn! We recommend that you take down your questions somewhere so you do not forget!

After this FAQ session, there will be a short mix scrim session for you to play in a real competitive game. Your mentors will be observing the games, and will give pointers either during or after the game. After that, you may again ask any questions you have to the mentors.

Please understand that while we will try our best to give everyone a chance to play, you may not have the chance to due to an uneven amount of players. Don't be discouraged if you don't get to play - You can learn a lot from watching the games as well!

What happens after everything is over?

Feel free to add your mentors and ask them anything else you're unsure of! If you made any friends and liked playing with any of your fellow mentees/classmates, feel free to add them as well!

And if you're still hungry to learn more about competitive TF2, why not sign up for next week's classes as well? :)

I'm still unsure about something!

Well, feel free to add either erio or Caldoran on Steam for any unresolved questions you may have!
